SPRUCE & LEDGE
Handcrafted in Downeast Maine
Born from salt air and steady hands.
Every piece begins where the Atlantic meets granite — in a workshop built on the belief that the finest things are made slowly, with intention, from materials that carry their own history.
We source full-grain hides from heritage tanneries, cut them by hand, and stitch each seam with a patience that machines will never know.

The Process
Six steps. Zero shortcuts.

Hide Selection
Each project begins with choosing the right hide — full-grain, vegetable-tanned leather sourced from heritage tanneries with generations of craft behind them.

Pattern & Cut
Patterns are drafted by hand, placed to follow the natural grain, and cut with precision knives that have never touched a factory floor.

Hand Stitching
Saddle-stitched with waxed linen thread using two needles — the technique that outlasts any machine stitch by decades.

Edge Burnishing
Every edge is beveled, dyed, and burnished by hand with canvas and beeswax until it gleams with a smooth, sealed finish.

Hardware Setting
Solid brass hardware, hand-set with custom rivets and clasps. No plating — these pieces develop a living patina alongside the leather.

Final Inspection
Every finished piece is examined under magnification, conditioned with our proprietary oil blend, and stamped with our mark.
The Collection
Made to last a lifetime.
